Pioneers of the ‘Natural-Style’ Swimming Pool in Victoria

Natural Pools was the pioneer of the ‘natural-style’ swimming pool in Victoria. Natural Pools’ style has evolved over the past 30 years; having built swimming pools and gardens of every type and style, the company now trends towards modern classical and minimalist designs that complement today’s architectural trends.

Natural Pools has always led through innovation. It was the first swimming pool company in Melbourne to recommend and install solar heating for swimming pools. Similarly, it was the first to embrace salt chlorination and in-floor cleaning systems.

Natural Pools is an industry leader in comprehensive water management solutions, including roof harvesting, discrete water tanks, pool cover and upgrading of existing pool equipment.

A major company highlight was the construction of arguably the biggest swimming pool in Australia. The wet-edge pool, which measures a remarkable 120m x 90m x 5m, was built for the filming of the Noah’s Ark and Moby Dick movies.

Since 1985, Natural Pools has won more than 60 awards, with three awards, including two gold awards at the 2007 Victorian SPADA Awards of Excellence and a gold awards in the 2007 National Pool and Spa of the Year Awards. Natural Pools uses only the best quality materials and equipment, and the most highly skilled and professional tradespeople.

This design combines the pool, spa and deck to harmonise with and closely complementing the modern Australian architectural style of the residence. Open spaces were created to maximise areas for children’s play, but allowance as also made for several zones through the garden.

A primary visual focus of the entertainment space, the pool was located so that it would be clearly visible from living spaces of the home. The generous paved areas between the pool, the pavilion and the existing residence seamlessly integrate the pool into the landscape.

The pool’s steps are unobtrusively located in the corner near the spa for easy access to and from the pool. A five meter swimout extends from the steps along the southern side of the pool providing generous underwater seating, easy access between the spa and the pool, and minimal intrusion on the swimming of laps in the pool.
