Stylish Pool Designs: Creating an Elegant and Contemporary Pool

The client’s brief for this swimming was for a family pool and spa large enough for exercise and for play, with an area that was suitable for young children. The location of the pool had to be suitable for the family to enjoy the sundrenched open space and had to be ideally located close to the alfresco entertainment are and close enough to the home to be used with ease and to supervise children.

Designed by Natural Pools in conjunction with CBG Architects, the obvious quality of this pool is in its deceptive simplicity of design. The exceptional quality exhibited in the construction of the house was closely replicated in the craftsmanship of the pool, in regard to the installation of the pool and spa coping, the waterline tiling and the tiling of the pool throughout.

The raised sap, which can be operated remotely from inside the home or by control pads mounted to the spa coping, provides a primary focal point to the design. The spillway from the spa to the pool creates a water feature, softening the linear design, as well as providing the relaxing sound of water throughout the garden.

The green mottle ceramic mosaic tile chosen for the pool and spa looks clean, minimal and classy, and gives a depth of colour which complements the surrounding bushland.

The meet pool fencing regulations without compromising the beautiful, open bush vista, careful consideration was required in the location of the pool fencing. Extensive retaining walls were built on the perimeter of the pool terraces with simple, visually unobtrusive black metal fencing above.
