Turning Dreams Into Reality with Custom Pool Design

After completing extensive renovations to an existing home, the owners of this property were ready to finish their project by upgrading their back garden. Natural Pools were engaged to design a family friendly landscape concept, including a swimming pool, which would unify and integrate with a proposed pool pavilion and several other structures.

Designer Frank Morden of Natural Pools was employed to design and create the pool. To achieve the final result of a pool that harmonises with its surroundings and doesn’t appear ‘dumped’ into the space, the pool was partially built out of ground and partially set into a site cut, requiring significant from work and allowing for clever site manipulation.

The strong geometrical architectural elements of the home were echoed in the rectilinear design of the pool. The broad and generous steps of the pool echo those used in the landscape design, flowing seamlessly between the residence and the adjacent decking.

The pool was fully rendered in a green quartz finish to provide a soft aquamarine water colour, heightened at night by the use of clear lenses on the pool lights that generate a luminescence to the pool body. The pool is transformed into a lighting feature in its own by introducing a soft glow to the garden.

Top of the range pool equipment, including PCC in-floor cleaning system, solar heating and several automation devices, makes this pool relatively maintenance free. The service area for the pool equipment is located discretely at the rear of the property and is designed for both visual and auditory screening.
